How it works

Dayforce Wallet is a program provided by Ceridian that allows employers to offer their employees new ways to access their pay, including on-demand. When employers offer on-demand pay1, employees can access their pay as soon as it is earned, without waiting for their standard payday. 

Participating employees may access their pay through a Dayforce Wallet Mastercard®, which is easily managed through the free Dayforce Wallet app2. Signing up for the Dayforce Wallet Card does not impact credit scores, as the Dayforce Wallet Card is not a credit card and there is no credit check required to sign up.  

Once available funds have been loaded to the Card, it can be used to make purchases everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted, to pay bills, and to withdraw cash at ATMs. The mobile app can also be used to transfer funds.

Dayforce Wallet includes a free mobile app to help manage the Dayforce Wallet Card. Available for iOS and Android devices, the app provides users the ability to see their real-time card balance and transaction history, as well as the ability to locate ATMs and transfer money to other accounts. 

Currently, Dayforce Wallet is available to companies that use Ceridian’s flagship platform, Dayforce, for HCM/payroll in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom. Not all Dayforce customers have signed up for Dayforce Wallet, so ask your employer if you’re not sure.  

If you are 14-17 years old in the United States, you’ll need parent or legal guardian approval to complete your Dayforce Wallet registration. Follow the steps in the app to request approval, and an electronic document will be sent to your parent or guardian to sign and submit. It’s easy to do, right from the app. 

Adding pay to your Dayforce Wallet Card

You can add your pay to your Dayforce Wallet Card in one of two ways: 

  1. Many employers offer their employees on-demand pay, which means you can add your available pay to your card at any time, without having to wait until your standard payday. Not all companies using Dayforce Wallet offer on-demand pay, so ask your employer if you’re not sure. More information about on-demand pay can be found below. 
  2. You can also have your pay automatically deposited to your Dayforce Wallet Card each pay period by setting your card account up for direct deposit. You can have some or all of your paycheck added to your Dayforce Wallet Card even if you also use the on-demand pay feature. Click here to learn more about setting up direct deposit to your Dayforce Wallet Card. 

When you set up direct deposit, you may be eligible to receive your pay up to 2 days early. Some employers send payment instructions ahead of the actual payday. If they do, GO2bank, the issuer of the Dayforce Wallet Card, will credit the amount to your account when they receive payment instructions (instead of waiting for the actual payday) so you can enjoy your money sooner. However, it’s important to note that if and how early your deposit can be posted to your account is completely dependent on when your employer sends the payment instructions. As such, the availability or timing of early direct deposit may vary from pay period to pay period. 

You might get your direct deposit up to two days early3, one day early, or on your regularly scheduled payday. For example, banking holidays, the time of the day that transactions are initiated, and time zone differences can all affect the time between a payment being initiated and bank receiving the funds. 

If you don't receive your direct deposit early, it should arrive on your regularly scheduled payday. 

3 Early direct deposit availability depends on payor type, timing, payment instructions, and bank fraud prevention measures. As such, early direct deposit availability may vary from pay period to pay period. The name and Social Security number on file with your employer or benefits provider must match your GO2bank account to prevent fraud restrictions on the account. 

To get paid up to two days early3, you will need to register for Dayforce Wallet and have direct deposit set up for your Dayforce Wallet Card. After that, there is nothing additional to do and there are no fees for direct deposit.

As such, early direct deposit availability may vary from pay period to pay period. On-demand pay1

Available pay is the net amount of your wages available to you. This number will grow larger as you complete shifts, and it will shrink as your employer processes your regular paycheck. 

From the main page, select “Add Pay to Card” and select the amount of available pay you would like to add to your Dayforce Wallet Card. You cannot undo this action, and this amount will be deducted from your normal pay, so proceed with caution.

Yes, each time funds are withdrawn, Dayforce Wallet automatically protects or withholds the proper amount of taxes, garnishments, and other source deductions for you based on the transaction amount. The amounts are visible in your earnings statements on Dayforce. 

Yes, each on-demand pay will have a corresponding earning statement available in Dayforce. 

Within a pay period, the amount of money you have requested as on-demand payments is reduced from your normal paycheck. The earning statement will reflect each on-demand pay distribution separately, as well as a total with the applicable earnings, deductions, and total amount distributed.

Using your Dayforce Wallet Card

Most registered users will have the ability to view their Dayforce Wallet Card account information in the mobile app once they complete their registration*. Once the card account details are available, users can then begin using their card as soon as funds are added. This digital card allows you to make purchases online or over the phone until you receive and activate your physical card. Your digital card is only active 15 days after you register your Dayforce Wallet account or until you activate your physical card (whichever happens first). If you set up any recurring payments with your digital card, you’ll need to update them with your physical card information as the expiration date and CVV code on your digital card are different than on your physical card.  

*Card account details are not available in the mobile app to employees based in New York. 

 Yes, the Dayforce Wallet Card can be added to Apple Pay®, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay®.

You can use your card everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. You can use your card to make online and in-store purchases, to pay bills, and to withdraw cash.  

Card account details can be found by clicking on the card image on the home page of the Dayforce Wallet app or within the “Account” section of the app. 

Yes, you may use the 16-digit Dayforce Wallet Card number printed on your card to pay any bills that can be paid via a debit card. 

Employees have the option to upgrade their Dayforce Wallet Card, which unlocks additional features, including the ability to add cash to your Dayforce Wallet Card at thousands of GreenDot© Reload @ the RegisterTM locations like 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Walmart.

You can find your Dayforce Wallet Card account information, including your card number, expiration date, and CVV, in the Account tab of the Dayforce Wallet app. You can use these card details to start making purchases before your physical card arrives. This digital card allows you to make purchases online or over the phone until you receive and activate your physical card. Generally, yes, but be sure to check with the merchant before beginning the payment process as not all retailers accept split payments. If your purchase costs more than the balance on your card, most merchants allow you to simply pay the difference with cash or another payment method.  

Cash back rewards

Dayforce Wallet Rewards gives you cash back from thousands of brands, including local businesses and online stores. The brands provide a cash back offer for each purchase. There are no coupons to clip, no code to show the cashier, and no promo codes to keep track of. Just receive cash back when you use the Dayforce Wallet Card to make qualifying purchases at participating merchants. 

Earning cash back is easy and automatic. Just make qualified purchases at participating merchants. 

You can see all the current offers available to you at any time in the rewards section of the Dayforce Wallet app. 

Cash back offers are found in the Dayforce Wallet app and will earn you cash back when you pay with your Dayforce Wallet Card. 

Online Offers must be completed through the app. To earn cash back, open the offer, and tap the "Shop" button. You'll be redirected to the merchant's app or website, where you must complete the purchase with your Dayforce Wallet Card to be eligible for cash back. 

Every offer is different, and if you want to earn cash back for an online purchase, you’ll want to double-check the offer details to be sure it includes cash back. Clicking on an offer will give you more information, and by scrolling down to the More Info & Fine Print section, you'll see any limitations exclusions or restrictions the merchant may have as part of their offer. 

You can also earn cash back at local businesses in your area. They will appear in your app when that business location is participating in a cash back offer. Simply visit the local merchant you found listed in the app at the specific street address, pay for your purchase with your Dayforce Wallet Card, and you will receive cash back after you have made your purchase. 

Each merchant is different, and the cash back percentage you earn will be shown next to the offer and within the offer details. Make sure to check the offer details for any limits, exclusions, or restrictions the merchant may have as part of their offer. 

Merchants may target their offers to our user base; this means that the offers you see may come or go depending on the offer the merchant wants to promote. To see what offers are currently available to you, always make sure to check the Dayforce Wallet app. Offers change regularly. 

A pending purchase will display as an estimated amount of cash back you will earn in your account summary; the amount is not final until the purchase transaction is settled. Once the transaction is completed, earned cash back will be applied to your Dayforce Wallet Card account. Transactions typically complete within 1-5 days but can take up to 90 days depending on the merchant.

Refer-A-Friend

You’ll earn a $10 Referral Bonus for each person you refer who signs up and then makes a purchase of at least $5 on their Dayforce Wallet Mastercard®. They’ll earn $10 too!

You can earn up to $500 in a calendar year. 

Dayforce Wallet Card Refer-A-Friend is available in the U.S. to eligible employees of companies who use Dayforce for payroll and have launched Dayforce Wallet. If you have the app, your coworkers may be eligible too. If you have friends who work for other companies that use Dayforce Wallet and live in the U.S., they may also be eligible. When in doubt, your friends can check with their payroll administrator.   

  1. Go to the Dayforce Wallet app, tap Account  
  2. Find and tap Refer Friends  
  3. Tap the Share Code button to send your unique referral code to a friend via text, email, or your favorite app. 
  4. When your friend downloads the Dayforce Wallet app and signs up for the card, they’ll be prompted to enter your unique referral code. That’s how we know you sent them our way. 
  5. Once your friend spends $5 using their Dayforce Wallet Mastercard®, you’ll both get $10. Keep referring to earn up to $500 in referral bonuses! 
Referral codes are meant to be shared amongst friends and coworkers. Please avoid sharing through public forums or sharing with individuals who you do not know, as not all employees may be eligible. See the Terms and Conditions for further details. 

Don’t worry! Your friend will have up to 7 days after they successfully sign up for the Dayforce Wallet Card to input your referral code. During that time, they can go to the Account tab, find the Rewards section, and tap on “Enter Referral Code”.

After your friend successfully signs up for the Dayforce Wallet Card and makes a purchase of $5 or more using their card within 90 days, we’ll credit $10 on your Dayforce Wallet Card within 14 days of the qualifying purchase.

Yes, you’ll still be able to refer friends even after you earn $500 in a calendar year, but you won’t earn $10 from those referrals. You’ll start earning again the next calendar year. For example, if you’ve already earned $500 in 2024, you’ll next be eligible to earn Referral Bonuses on or after January 1, 2025.

If your friend registers using your code and makes a purchase of $5 or more, they will still be eligible to earn $20 even if you have hit your annual limit of $500.

The message your friend sent you includes a link and a referral code. Use the link to download the Dayforce Wallet app, and then sign up for the Dayforce Wallet Mastercard®. During the sign up, you’ll be asked if you have a referral code. Tap the “Enter Referral Code” button and then enter the code from your friend’s message. That’s it! Then make a purchase of $5 or more using your Dayforce Wallet Card  within 90 days to earn your $10. We’ll credit $10 on your Dayforce Wallet Card within 14 days of the qualifying purchase. 

Card management and fees

There are no balance minimums, monthly fees4, or fees to add your available pay to the Dayforce Wallet Card. Additionally, there are no fees to make purchases or for standard ACH transfers to other financial institutions, as well as fee-free cash withdrawals at in-network ATMs5.

If you see a transaction you don’t believe you made, please contact Customer Service immediately at 1-800-342-9167. 

Transaction and spending history

Transactions can be viewed in the Dayforce Wallet app, categorized by different types such as spending, withdrawals, and transfers. One year of history is available in the app. Call Customer Service to request 24 months of written transaction history or statements. 

 View your card balance in the Dayforce Wallet app or by calling Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-342-9167. 

Transfer funds

Yes, you can transfer funds to an external bank account using the Dayforce Wallet app.

To transfer money to another bank account, go to the Transfer tab in the Dayforce Wallet app and add your bank account information (account type, account number, and routing number). Standard transfers are typically received in one to three business days. There are no fees for standard transfers, though transfer limits may apply and external third-party banks may charge a fee. Please see your Cardholder Agreement or Deposit Account Agreement for further details.
 
Beginning February 2024, Dayforce Wallet also offer Instant Transfers—see the next FAQ for more details.

An Instant Transfer transaction is the near real-time transfer of funds from your Dayforce Wallet account to another of your U.S. bank accounts that is associated with an eligible Visa®, Mastercard®, or Discover®-branded bank-issued debit or reloadable prepaid card.
 
Instant transfers are generally processed within minutes of your request (but could take up to 30 minutes or longer in some cases).
 
There is a 2% fee (minimum of $0.60, maximum of $10) for Instant Transfer Transactions.
A Money Transfer Out transaction is a near real-time transfer of funds from your Card to another network-branded account (e.g., a Visa® or Mastercard® prepaid or debit card) that is authorized via a third-party platform (e.g., adding value to a digital wallet).
 
An example pf a money transfer out is using the Cash App platform to transfer funds from your Dayforce Wallet Card account.

No earlier than February 1, 2024, there is a 2% fee (minimum of $0.90, maximum of $10) for Money Transfer Out transactions. This Money Transfer Out fee will appear on your statement as “Funding Transaction Fee”.
Standard bank transfers are free and use the ACH (Automated Clearing House) banking process, which typically takes 1-3 business days to reach your bank account.
 
Instant Transfers are processed through different networks that allow money to reach your bank account more quickly.

ATMs and access to cash

Dayforce Wallet offers over 55,000 fee-free ATMs. All MoneyPass ATMs and select Allpoint ATMs are fee-free. To confirm if an Allpoint ATM is in-network, please check to see if it is in the ATM locator in the Dayforce Wallet app. You can still use your card out-of-network, but you will be subject to the out-of-network ATM withdrawal fee as well as any additional fees imposed by the ATM operator or network. 
 

There is an ATM locator in the Dayforce Wallet app, which will help you find the closest in-network ATMs near you. To navigate to this feature in the App, go to your Account. Scroll down to the Help section, click on Find ATMs Near Me.  

Yes, you are limited to withdrawing $500 (including $10 in fees) per day. The ATM operator or network may also impose other limitations. 

You will be required to set a PIN when you activate your card. If you received an instant issue card, you will receive a default PIN. 

To update your PIN, please tap Account. Click on Manage Card PIN, and then Change PIN. A one-time passcode will be sent to the mobile number associated with the account. Enter a new 4-digit PIN, re-enter the PIN to confirm, and then type in the one-time passcode. Finally, tap Change PIN and you should be all set. If you any questions or issues, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-342-9167. 

Frozen, lost, or stolen cards and devices

Once you’ve activated your physical Dayforce Wallet Card, you can now freeze or unfreeze your card. 

To freeze your card: go to the Dayforce Wallet app, then navigate to Account > under Card, tap Freeze Card > enable the “Freeze Card” toggle. 

Similarly, to unfreeze your card: go to the Dayforce Wallet app by navigating to Account > under Card, tap Unfreeze Card > disable the “Freeze Card” toggle.

You can also unfreeze your card on the Home screen by tapping the alert “Unfreeze or report lost/stolen” and confirming you want to unfreeze your card. 

Once you unfreeze your card, you'll be able to use it right away, and exactly as before: to make purchases, transfer money instantly, and withdraw cash at ATMs. 

Freezing your Dayforce Wallet Card prevents it from being used to: 

  • Make new purchases, including digital wallet transactions 

  • Pay recurring bills that require your card details 

  • Transfer money instantly  

  • Withdraw cash at ATMs


However, your Dayforce Wallet account can still be used to: 

  • Request on-demand pay1  

  • Receive direct deposits 

  • Send standard bank transfers 

  • Make recurring bill payments using your routing and account numbers*  
     

Your card will remain frozen until you unfreeze the card or request a new card containing different card details (i.e., report lost or stolen). 

*Only upgraded accounts can access routing and account numbers. Don’t have an upgraded account? Go to your Account to upgrade for free.

Please notify us immediately of the loss, theft, or unauthorized use of your Dayforce Wallet Card. Call Customer Service at 1-800-342-9167, 24 hours a day. 

You are allowed one free replacement card during each calendar year. For each additional request per calendar year, you will be charged a $5 Card Replacement Fee. Expedited shipping of your replacement card is available upon request at an additional cost of $25.  

You must be logged in to the Dayforce Wallet app to request your earned pay. To ensure no unauthorized users can gain access to your app, we recommend you double-check your device’s security settings. 

Traveling with your card

No, not at this time. 

Security

Access to your Dayforce Wallet account is protected by a unique Personal Identification Number ("PIN") as well as security measures designed to protect you from unauthorized use of your card. 

You will have no liability for transactions that were not authorized by you if you exercise reasonable care in safeguarding your card from risk of loss or theft and, upon becoming aware of such loss or theft, promptly report such loss or theft by calling Customer Service. See your Cardholder Agreement for complete details. 

Dayforce Wallet registered account funds are FDIC-insured through GO2bank. 

We follow strict procedures to ensure that your card account and personal information are protected. For more information regarding your privacy, please view the Privacy Policy

Register and get your Dayforce Wallet card

You can register for a Dayforce Wallet Card within the Dayforce Wallet app by following the registration and card activation steps. Registration requires a valid email address, mobile number, and a Dayforce account.

The final step in registering for Dayforce Wallet is to confirm your address so that a card can be sent to you. 

The easiest way to activate your card is directly in the Dayforce Wallet mobile app. If you are unable to activate in app, you can also activate your card by calling 1-855-976-2046 and select the Dayforce Wallet Card option for card activation.

You will be required to set a PIN when you activate your card. If you received an instant issue card, you will receive a default PIN.  

You’ll receive your card in 7-10 business days. If you don’t receive your card by then, contact Customer Service at 1-800-342-9167, and they will be happy to assist you.  

If it's been more than 10 business days and you haven't received your Dayforce Wallet Card, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-342-9167 and they will be happy to assist you.  

No, not at this time.

The Dayforce Wallet Mastercard® and the underlying account associated with the Card are subject to the Cardholder Agreement, Fee Schedule and Electronic Communications Agreement. Because minors generally cannot enter into agreements of this nature, a parent or guardian must consent to the terms on the minor’s behalf.  

Account changes

To update your direct deposit in Dayforce, follow these steps: 
  1. Log on to Dayforce Web, select Profile and Settings. 
  2. Navigate to Forms, then select Direct Deposit.
  3. Select Add Account, then select Dayforce Wallet Card.
  4. Choose the amount of pay you want to add to your Dayforce Wallet Card each pay period.
You’ll receive notifications in the Dayforce Wallet app and by email when you can change your account.

We are switching to a new banking partner to offer you an expanded network of fee-free ATMs and a new contactless tap-to-pay card. To get access to those new benefits, you can change your account, which involves reading and accepting new legal agreements and confirming your address so we can send you a new Dayforce Wallet Mastercard issued by GO2bank.

If you open a new Dayforce Wallet Card account issued by GO2bank, we’ll help you transfer your Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard® balance to your new card.

Yes, the Dayforce Wallet Card issued by GO2bank has legal agreements and fee schedules specific to our new banking partner, GO2bank. You can find these agreements here and you will need to accept the new agreements during the account change.

The Dayforce Wallet features you use today (like on-demand pay, early direct deposit, bank transfers, Dayforce Wallet Rewards, and our referral program) will continue to be available after you change your account. You’ll also get access to more fee-free ATMs and a contactless tap-to-pay Dayforce Wallet Card.

The ability to connect your card to your digital wallet and the ability to upgrade your card to receive account and routing numbers are now available for the new Dayforce Wallet Card.

Dayforce Wallet continues to have no hidden fees and no fees for on-demand pay. There are no balance minimums, monthly fees, or fees to add your available pay to the Dayforce Wallet Card. There are no fees to make purchases, transfer money to other financial institutions, or make fee-free cash withdrawals at in-network ATMs.  However, some fees may differ with our new banking partner, such as the expedited replacement card fee. Fee details are disclosed in the Cardholder Agreement

No. The new account and new contactless card are free. Dayforce Wallet never charges a fee for on-demand pay or early direct deposit. For a complete list of fees associated with the Dayforce Wallet Card, please see the Cardholder Agreement

As part of the transition to our new banking partner, we may contact you by phone if you haven't finished the account change. The purpose of these calls is to remind you to complete the account change.

The call comes from the toll-free phone number 1-888-997-5253. The callers identify themselves as calling on behalf of Dayforce Wallet, and confirm they are speaking to the user they are trying to reach. Dayforce Wallet will never ask you for any personal information (such as date of birth, social security number, or address) or login credentials for your Dayforce Wallet account. If you are asked for personal information or login credentials, it is not a call from Dayforce Wallet—please hang up.

Yes, you’ll need to update any automatic bill payments and subscriptions with your new Dayforce Wallet Card account number. We’ll remind you during the change process. 

Your new, contactless Dayforce Wallet Card will arrive 7-10 business days after you complete the account change. While you wait for your new card, you can keep using your existing Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard. 

After you receive your new Dayforce Wallet Card, you can activate it directly in the Dayforce Wallet app. When you activate your card in the app, you’ll be able to set your PIN, move any remaining balance from your old Dayforce Card to your new card, and move your direct deposit to your new card.

The fee-free ATM network is expanding, and users now have access to over 55,000 free ATMs. All MoneyPass® ATMs and a select number of Allpoint ATMs are in-network and fee-free. You can find nearby fee-free ATMs using the ATM locator in the Dayforce Wallet app.

Direct deposits take a few days to process.

For example: if you have direct deposit set up to your Dayforce Prepaid Card and you typically receive your direct deposit on Wednesday, the processing of that direct deposit typically begins a few days earlier. If you’re expecting a direct deposit to your Dayforce Prepaid Card within a few days, we recommend waiting for your direct deposit to arrive and then completing your account change. That way, all of your funds will be transferred to your new card and you can continue accessing them using the Dayforce Wallet app.  

If you do change to a new GO2bank account before receiving your direct deposit, you will have access to your funds on your Dayforce Prepaid Card and be able to complete transactions with it, but you won’t see your Dayforce Prepaid Card balance or activity in the Dayforce Wallet app. To check the balance or perform other banking transactions, you can call Customer Support at 1-877-723-7434.

If you aren’t expecting a direct deposit within the next few days, you can disregard the message and continue with the account change process.

You can close your Dayforce Wallet Card account by calling 1-800-342-9167. Removing the app does not close your account. 

If you forgot your password, there are two ways you can create a new one. Follow the steps below in the Dayforce Wallet app: 

  • Tap on the Forgot? button  
  • Enter your account email address and tap Next to continue 
  1. If you are asked to choose how to receive a code*: 
    1. Select “Email Me”, “Text Me”, or "Call Me” 
    2. Enter the One Time Passcode sent to the selection you made  
    3. Create your new password 
  2. If you are asked to enter the code that was sent to your email**: 
    1. Enter the code you received 
    2. You’ll be asked to answer security questions to verify your identity 
    3. Once verified, create your new password 

*To use this feature, your device needs to meet the following requirements: 

  1. Your device needs to be registered with Dayforce Wallet. This can be accomplished by logging in to your account on this device. 
  2. You need to have a passcode or biometric login enabled (Face ID/Touch ID on iOS or fingerprint/face recognition on Android). 

**If the email you enter is not associated with a Dayforce Wallet app account, you will not receive a code. 

To enable two-step verification, go to the Account screen in the Dayforce Wallet app. Under the Security section, tap Two-Step Verification and toggle the Protect my account option to turn it on. The button will turn light pink/purple.  

This allows two-step verification to occur occasionally and launch when using a new device. You can also choose to have two-step verification occur every time you log in. 

To change your phone number: navigate to the Account screen. In the Personal Information section, tap the mobile number. Click on Change Number. Enter your NEW mobile number and tap Next. A code will be texted to the number created. Enter the code and tap Done

To change your user ID/name and address, or other relevant information, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-342-9167 to make applicable updates. You may be asked to provide additional information to protect your account. 

Upon separation from your company, you will no longer be able to receive pay on your Dayforce Wallet Card, but you will still have access to any remaining funds as shown in your card balance.

System requirements

At this time, mobile phones are supported for both iOS (version 13 and higher) and Android (version 6.0 and higher). Tablets will be fully supported in the future; currently, they can be used, but optimal functionality is not guaranteed.
