How it works

Dayforce Wallet is a program provided by Ceridian that allows employers to offer their employees new ways to access their pay, including on-demand. When employers offer on-demand pay*, employees can access their pay as soon as it is earned, without waiting for their standard payday.

Participating employees may access their pay through a Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard®, which is easily managed through the free Dayforce Wallet mobile app1. Signing up for the Dayforce Card does not impact credit scores, as the Dayforce Card is not a credit card and there is no credit check. Since it’s a prepaid card, only the available balance can be used.

Once funds have been loaded to the Card, it can be used for purchases everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted, to pay bills, to withdraw cash at ATMs, and to get “cash back” at retail stores during PIN purchase transactions. The mobile app can also be used to transfer funds.

Dayforce Wallet includes a free mobile app to help manage the Dayforce Card. Available for Apple and Android devices, the app provides users the ability to see their real-time card balance and transaction history, as well as the ability to locate ATMs and transfer money to other accounts.

Currently, Dayforce Wallet is available to companies that use Ceridian’s flagship platform, Dayforce, for HCM/payroll in the United States. Not all Dayforce customers have signed up for Dayforce Wallet, so ask your employer if you’re not sure.

Yes, the Dayforce Card can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

Yes, you may use the 16-digit Dayforce Card number printed on your card to pay bills that can otherwise be paid via a credit or debit transaction.

The Dayforce Card can be used to set up recurring monthly payments for bills that can otherwise be paid via credit or debit card. Use the 16-digit card number to set up recurring bills.

Employees have the option to upgrade their Dayforce Card, which unlocks additional features, including the ability to add cash to your Dayforce Card at thousands of GreenDot© Reload @ the RegisterTM locations like 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Walmart.

The account number and routing number of your Dayforce Card account can be found within the Account tab under the “Banking” section. These numbers are only visible once you upgrade your card within the Dayforce Wallet app and have passed the additional verification requirements.

Generally, yes, but be sure to check with the merchant before your transaction, as not all retailers accept multiple pay methods. If your purchase costs more than the balance on your card, most merchants allow you to simply pay the difference with cash or another payment method. If your card is declined, ask if you can use your card first, then pay the difference with cash or another payment method.

Add pay to Dayforce Wallet

You can set up your Dayforce Card to have your pay automatically deposited each pay period. Many employers also offer on-demand pay, which means their employees can add their available pay to their card as soon as they have earned it, without waiting until payday. Not all companies using Dayforce Wallet have signed up for on-demand pay, so ask your employer if you’re not sure. More information about on-demand pay can be found below.

Once funds are loaded to your card, you can begin using it. (Subject to transaction fees and limits; please see the Cardholder Agreement).

On-demand pay*

From the main page, select “Add Pay to Card” and select the amount of available pay you would like to add to your Dayforce Card. You cannot undo this action, and this amount will be deducted from your normal pay, so proceed with caution.
Yes, the maximum that can be loaded to the Dayforce Card per day is $10,000. Your employer may also impose additional limits.
Yes, each time funds are withdrawn, the proper amount of taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions are withheld. The amounts are visible in your earnings statements on Dayforce.
Yes, each on-demand pay will have a corresponding earning statement available in Dayforce.
Within a pay period, the amount of money you have requested as on-demand payments is reduced from your normal paycheck. The earning statement will reflect each on-demand pay distribution separately, as well as a total with the applicable earnings, deductions, and total amount distributed.
Upon separation from your company, you will no longer be able to receive pay on your Dayforce Card, but you will still have access to any remaining funds as shown in your card balance.

Card management and fees

There are no balance minimums, monthly fees, or fees to add your available pay to the Card. Additionally, there are no fees to make purchases, receive cash back during PIN purchases, withdraw cash at MoneyPass® ATMs, or transfer money to other financial institutions. Consult the Fee Schedule for a complete list of fees that do apply.

Transaction and spending history

Transactions can be viewed in the Dayforce Wallet app, categorized by different types such as spending, withdrawals, and transfers. One year of history is available in the app. Call Customer Service to request 24 months of written transaction history.

Transfer funds

Yes, employees can transfer funds to a bank account. However, one of the benefits of Dayforce Wallet is that it is designed to help employees manage their finances all in one place, with features that keep you in control of your money.

An ACH transfer is free, although limits do apply.

To use the ACH transfer, you must first validate bank information. Once this is complete, it is simple and easy to transfer funds from your card to a bank account using the bank’s routing and account number, such as you’d find on a check. The funds are sent to the bank and typically received in one to three business days.

ATMs and access to cash

There is an ATM locator in the Dayforce Wallet app, which will help you find the closest MoneyPass® ATM near you. You can also use the ATM locator here.

You will be required to set a PIN when you activate your card. If you receive an instant issue card, you will receive a default PIN. Contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434 to change your PIN.

No, MoneyPass is the in-network, surcharge-free ATM network for the Dayforce Card. You can still use your card out-of-network, but you will be subject to the out-of-network ATM fee as well as any additional fees imposed by the ATM operator or network. Consult the Fee Schedule for a complete list of fees that apply.

Yes, you are limited to withdrawing $510 per day. The ATM operator or network may also impose other limitations.

Lost or stolen cards and devices

Please notify us immediately of the loss, theft, or unauthorized use of your Dayforce Card. Call Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434, 24 hours a day.

You must be logged in to the Dayforce Wallet app to request your earned pay. To ensure no unauthorized users can gain access to your app, we recommend you double-check your device’s security settings.

You are allowed one free replacement card during each calendar year.  You will be charged a $5 Card Replacement Fee if you request a replacement card prior to expiration and you have already requested and receive one free replacement card in the same calendar year. Expedited shipping of your replacement card is available upon request at an additional cost of $25.

Travel with the Dayforce Card

If you choose to upgrade your card, it may be used outside the U.S. for purchases and ATM withdrawals. International Transaction Fees, International ATM Withdrawal Fees, and International ATM Decline Fees apply. See the Fee Schedule for complete details.

Security

Access to your Dayforce Card is protected by a unique Personal Identification Number ("PIN") as well as security measures designed to protect you from unauthorized use of your card.

You will have no liability for transactions that were not authorized by you if you exercise reasonable care in safeguarding your card from risk of loss or theft and, upon becoming aware of such loss or theft, promptly report such loss or theft by calling Customer Service. The Dayforce Card is issued by Central Bank of Kansas City, Member FDIC.

Register for Dayforce Wallet

You can register for Dayforce Wallet within the Dayforce Wallet mobile app by following the registration and card activation steps. Registration requires a valid email address, phone number, and a Dayforce account.

If you wish to upgrade your Dayforce Card and take advantage of advanced features, U.S. federal law requires that we further verify your identity. We will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

You’ll receive your card in 7-10 business days. If you don’t receive your card by then, contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434, and they will be happy to assist you.

Account changes

You can close your Dayforce Wallet account by calling 1-877-723-7434. Removing the app does not close your account.

System requirements

At this time, mobile phones are supported for both Apple (iOS version 13 and higher) and Android (version 6.0 and higher). Tablets will be fully supported in the future; currently, they can be used, but optimal functionality is not guaranteed.

If you choose to upgrade to the advanced features, you get all the same features of the Dayforce Card, plus the ability to funds from other sources, including cash, other accounts or pay from other employers. The choice to upgrade your card is entirely up to you. You can upgrade your card within the Dayforce Wallet app. You will need to verify some additional information to take advantage of these features as required by federal law. We will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
